Jodie Barker is a freelance photographer and photo media artist based in Sydney, Australia.

Growing up in small dusty towns in Western Australia and Queensland, Jodie arrived in Sydney solo in her early teens to study Performing Arts. A world away from everything familiar, visual arts became a way of exploring a new environment. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School Jodie started her career shooting stills and portraits for film and theatre, a natural synthesis of the two disciplines she had trained in.

Exploring relationships to place, Jodie's personal work aims to delve into the physical, emotional and spiritual connections we have with the spaces that surround us. Her photographs, drawings, installation and film work have been exhibited in galleries and public spaces in Perth & Sydney.

Jodie is currently working from The Aerie at Tortuga Studios in Sydney's Inner West and is available for commissions and collaborations.
